Google has introduced a new markup type in its job postings guidelines, enabling publishers to specify the availability of telecommuting jobs.
Initially, Google advised excluding any location details other than the country for telecommuting jobs when job posting markup was first introduced.
Google’s updated recommendations for telecommuting job postings are as follows:
”For jobs in which the employee works remotely 100% of the time and therefore works from home, add the additionalProperty field with value TELECOMMUTE.”
Search marketer Aaron Bradley notes that this is believed to be Google’s first directed use of ‘additionalProperty’ in its structured data guidelines.
