Yoast SEO, a popular WordPress plugin with over 3 million installs, has received updates to both its free and premium versions. Here’s what’s new in each.
## What’s New in Yoast SEO Premium
The premium version of Yoast SEO now offers the ability to connect with Google Search Console. While this feature isn’t new, an important update is that crawl errors will now appear within Yoast SEO. This allows users to address these errors directly without constantly switching between WordPress and Search Console.
Yoast SEO Premium has also expanded its redirect capabilities. Previously, it was possible to redirect 404 pages using a 301 redirect. Now, users can utilize 302, 307, 410, and 451 redirects.
Another updated feature is the internal linking tool. This tool suggests other pages on your site that could be linked from the content you’re currently writing. The update ensures that the tool recognizes if a suggested link has already been added to the text, helping you avoid repetitive links. However, you still have the option to link to the same page more than once if desired.
## What’s New in Yoast SEO 4.4
The free version of Yoast SEO has also seen improvements, including several bug fixes. Notably, tables are now viewable on mobile devices. Additionally, the option to disable keyword and content analysis has been moved from the ‘General’ tab to the ‘Features’ tab.
Both the free and premium versions of Yoast SEO 4.4 are now available for update from your WordPress dashboard.
