Optimize Your Website for Search Engine Ranking in 2020

Contributor and SMX speaker, Fili Wiese, explains why it’s important to audit your website in 2020 to help search engine algorithms better understand your content.

Below is the video transcript:

Hello, my name is Fili. I used to work for Google and now I am with SearchBrothers. One of the things I want to discuss is how to prepare for 2020.

If you have a website and are concerned about SEO, you need to understand what goes into search engines.

Search engines operate with algorithms and algorithms work with trends. The input you provide influences these trends. Your website and its content are what search engines like Google and Bing want to rank.

Search engines aim to rank your website, but you have to make it easy for them.

One essential task is to examine your log files. Do you have them? Do you have access to them? If not, you need to address this immediately.

Additionally, you should audit your website and check all the technical signals contributing to these trends. If affected by various updates, such as medical or core updates, you must understand the signals you’re sending into the algorithm’s “black box.” The results depend heavily on your input.

For 2020, focus on optimizing your input and let the search engines handle the output.
