In an exclusive study conducted by SEO PowerSuite, revealing findings emerged about how SEO professionals are responding to Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) project two months after its launch. The study aimed to identify SEOs’ awareness of AMP, gauge the perceived impact on mobile search results, and understand the actions they plan to take.
SEO PowerSuite surveyed 385 SEO professionals from North America and Europe. The group included in-house SEOs, independent SEO consultants, agency SEOs, and those working for their own companies.
Do SEOs Know About AMP?
As expected, most SEOs are aware of AMP. However, a surprising 25% of those surveyed were not. According to the study, 75% said they were aware of AMP, and 18% had deeply researched it.

Are SEOs Implementing AMP?
Are SEOs actually implementing AMP at this point? Largely, no. According to the study, only 23% have begun to implement AMP on their mobile sites; 29% plan to do so in the next six months, and 5% have no plans to implement it at all.
Even though only 23% have adopted AMP so far, this number is significant for early adopters.

"Importantly, only 23% are currently implementing AMP, while those planning to or considering it are in the ‘research and planning’ phase—a typical corporate response to new protocol launches. This delay in adoption offers an opportunity for agile marketers to gain a competitive edge in mobile search by implementing AMP immediately."
The study concludes that early adopters are at a distinct advantage. Considering that over half of those surveyed believe AMP will significantly impact mobile rankings, and only 23% have implemented it so far, agile marketers have a chance to leverage AMP to gain an edge over their competitors.
