Google has introduced a Mobile Sites certification program, allowing developers and marketers to showcase their skills in mobile website creation.
To achieve Mobile Sites certification, candidates must pass an exam that evaluates their knowledge in essential areas of mobile website development.
Passing the exam will reward developers with a printable certificate and a listing on their professional profiles, indicating they have successfully completed the test.
The exam includes 65 multiple-choice and true-or-false questions, addressing both basic and advanced concepts. Participants are allotted 90 minutes to finish the exam and must score at least 80% to pass.
“The Mobile Sites exam covers foundational, technical, and advanced topics, including best practices for creating, managing, measuring, and optimizing mobile sites. We recommend having practical experience in mobile site development to enhance your chances of success.”
### Mobile Sites Study Guide
Developers are not limited to their practical experience when preparing for the exam. A study guide is available to help further increase their chances of passing.
The study guide is divided into four modules:
1. Mobile sites and their importance
2. Enhancing mobile site speed
3. Creating an effective mobile user experience (UX)
4. Advanced web technologies
The inclusion of an entire module on site speed highlights its critical importance in today’s digital landscape.
Notably, the exam does not require knowledge specific to any operating system. It assesses general expertise in mobile website development.
While the exam is primarily aimed at developers, digital marketers and SEOs are also encouraged to take it. The certification is suitable for anyone working with mobile websites in any capacity.
