Google Assistant is reportedly coming to iOS as a standalone app, according to information received from a reliable source.
It’s expected that Google will announce its official plans for Assistant on iOS at the Google I/O developer conference this week. With Google launching Assistant’s SDK last month, unveiling the announcement at a conference full of developers seems logical.
The app might be a hybrid between the chat-style interaction seen in Google Allo and the voice-controlled interaction in the Android OS. Beyond that, few details are currently available.
It is known that the app will initially be available only in the US upon launch, which is not surprising given that the Android version is also limited to a few regions.
Further details will likely emerge later this week after Google’s I/O conference.
