Google My Business has introduced two new post types, allowing businesses to highlight products and offers.
The new ‘product’ and ‘offer’ post types enable Google My Business accounts to share product and promotional details.
Posts created through Google My Business appear in local search and Maps results whenever the listing is displayed.
Here is more detailed information about the two new post types:
- Event posts: These promote events that your business is involved with or supports. Event posts require a title, start/end dates and times, and may include a photo/video, CTA button, and other relevant information. For example, a bookstore might advertise a local author’s book signing or a book club meeting.
- Offer posts: These posts provide information about promotional sales or offers from your business. They require a title and start/end dates and times. A “View offer” CTA button is automatically included in the post. You can also include a photo/video, coupon code, link, and terms and conditions. For instance, a pizza parlor might advertise a 20% discount on large pizzas for a week.
Other post types that businesses can create with their Google My Business account include ‘What’s new’ and ‘Event’ posts.
‘What’s new’ posts provide general information and may include photos, videos, links, CTA buttons, and other details.
‘Event’ posts promote a specific event that the business is either directly involved in or supports. These posts can also include photos, videos, and CTA buttons.
Any business with a verified Google My Business listing can create a post on Google.
