Google Knowledge Panels Now Feature Web Reviews

Google has updated its Knowledge Panels in search results to include web reviews, and this feature is now accessible worldwide on both mobile and desktop platforms.

The Knowledge Panels will aggregate content from critic reviews, best-of lists, and customer reviews within the business listing. Up to three review sites will be featured. This will function similarly to how reviews for movies or TV shows appear in search results.

If you run a site with user-generated ratings and reviews, you could be eligible to show up in the “reviews from the web” listing. Your content must first be marked up with review Schema, and then you need to meet Google’s inclusion criteria.

US-based publishers who craft their own reviews may also qualify to have their content displayed in Knowledge Panels. To be eligible, your reviews need to be marked up following the new Schema guidelines.

Additionally, the company recommends incorporating local business review markup to help the search engine accurately match reviews to the respective local business.
