Google Introduces Carousel of Quora ‘Top Answers’ to Search Results

Google is experimenting with a new carousel in search results that highlights top answers from the Q&A site Quora. This development appears to extend a feature introduced last December when Google added a similar carousel showcasing answers from Stack Overflow.

Some individuals have reported encountering this new feature, although it remains unreplicated by others, including myself. It appears to be in the testing phase currently.

A Twitter user, Chanda Verma, noted seeing this new type of rich snippet for Quora answers while searching for “best water purifiers India.” Verma inquired if others have observed this ongoing Google test and tagged a few related profiles and hashtags in their tweet.

Reports indicate that users have observed this feature on both mobile and desktop platforms. This promising innovation could have numerous applications if Google expands it to more sites. The “top answer” carousel could be a valuable addition for product sites, travel websites, medical advice platforms, legal guidance services, and beyond.

For publishers, a significant advantage is that the snippets in the carousel are concise enough to pique searchers’ interest without giving away the complete answer. This design might incentivize more clicks, ensuring users engage beyond what is displayed in the search engine results pages (SERPs).
