Google has introduced its most substantial update to the AMP testing tool since 2016. You can now access the tool not only at its usual online location but also directly within search results.
Just type “amp testing tool” into the Google search bar, and you will see a submission form.
After entering an AMP URL into the submission form, the results page will display various updated features. Users can now submit an AMP to Google’s index after testing it and view an AMP’s raw source code. The “view search result” feature has been retained since the last update.
The AMP testing tool can be used on any URL, not just those on your site. So if you want to understand why a competitor’s AMPs frequently appear in search results, run some of their pages through the tool and observe what they are doing differently.
