Google’s rich result feature for question and answer pages is now accessible to all websites.
Previously, Q&A rich results were only offered on a limited basis to select sites.
Now, all websites can qualify to display these rich results by using the appropriate structured data to mark up their Q&A content.
It’s important to note that being eligible to display a certain result type doesn’t guarantee it will always appear in that format.
On the contrary, neglecting to use structured data ensures that your content will never be shown as a rich result.
Is it worthwhile to implement structured data? Absolutely—particularly if boosting traffic to your Q&A pages is advantageous for your business.
However, don’t be discouraged if you apply the markup and the rich results aren’t consistently displayed.
You can verify the correct implementation of the structured data using Google’s structured data testing tool.
This tool also allows you to preview how the pages will appear in search results.
Google Search Console’s ‘performance’ report tracks the frequency of your rich results appearing in search and identifies the queries that triggered them.
