Google Enhances Knowledge Panels for Art Searches

Google is appealing to art enthusiasts with its latest update to organic search results.

The art-loving audience might be larger than you think, with approximately 500 million art-related searches conducted on Google monthly.

Now, when you perform art-related searches, you’ll encounter a more interactive search results page than ever before. Additionally, Google has improved Street View to offer more detailed inside tours of the world’s most famous museums.

Google’s Search team and Arts & Culture team worked together to enhance how the company’s systems recognize pieces of art, the locations where they can be viewed in person, the artists who created them, the materials used, and the art periods they belong to.

“Now when you search an artist like Gustav Klimt, you’ll see an interactive Knowledge Panel that will highlight ways you can explore on a deeper level… and for some pieces, you can click through to see picture-perfect high-resolution imagery right from Google Arts & Culture.”
