Google Search Console statistics have started appearing directly in search results when users search for a query that their site ranks for.
Curious about your site’s ranking for a specific query? Simply enter the query into the search bar.
Within the search results, just under the paid listings, Google now displays data related to the query that was searched for.
In particular, Google is showing:
– Average ranking position for the query
– Number of impressions for the query
– Number of clicks your site has received when users search for that query
One Twitter user noticed this feature, asking if anyone else has seen these search analytics widgets for their site directly in the search results for their search terms.
The statistics displayed in the search results are drawn from the past 7 days of Google Search Console data. However, the stats are only visible when you are logged in with the same account that’s used to manage your Google Search Console properties.
It seems that these stats are currently only visible to US users on the Chrome browser. It’s likely that they only show up when a considerable amount of data has been collected for a specific query. For instance, it might not appear for a query where your site ranks in the 30th position with only a few impressions.
That said, it’s unclear what triggers these stats to be displayed, and Google has not officially announced anything about this development. It’s possible that the feature is still in testing, although several people have reported seeing it today.
You can try it yourself by entering a keyword your site ranks for into the Google search bar. Ensure you’re logged into Chrome with your Search Console account.
