When Google announced its latest Penguin update, a pressing question emerged: “How soon can I recover?”
Fortunately, the wait is nearly over. Google’s Gary Illyes has confirmed that Penguin recoveries are currently underway and will be completed within the next few days.

So, if your site has been penalized by Penguin in the past and you’ve taken the necessary steps to recover, you should start observing some positive changes this week.
Keep in mind that removing a penalty only devalues the bad links pointing to your site—it does not automatically elevate your site back up in the rankings.
If your efforts over the past two years were primarily focused on eliminating bad links, you might experience only a minor ranking adjustment, if any. Conversely, if you have been removing bad links while also acquiring good, new links, you may see a more notable improvement in your rankings.
