Bing Starts Including Facebook Posts in Business Knowledge Panels

The next time you search for a business on the desktop version of Bing, you may notice new social media integration in the right-hand knowledge panel.

Jennifer Slegg has observed Facebook posts appearing in the knowledge panels of specific brands and businesses. These posts are shown in a card-style format, displaying the two most recent updates from the business’s Facebook page.

Here’s an example of what it looks like:

Currently, Facebook posts in Bing knowledge panels are not shown for all brands and businesses, indicating this might be a test phase for the feature.

It’s also notable that searching for a brand or business with a physical store in your area presents a local knowledge panel rather than the type displayed above. There are no known examples of local knowledge panels showing Facebook posts.

This addition to Bing search is minor but significant, giving it a slight advantage over Google on desktop. While Google can display real-time tweets in search results, some may argue that showing Facebook posts is more impactful given Facebook’s larger number of daily active users compared to Twitter.
