A Comprehensive History of Your Life

Google is introducing ‘Your Timeline’ to Google Maps for iOS users, a feature that was previously exclusive to Android. You can access Your Timeline from the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.

The purpose of Your Timeline is to provide users with a searchable history of their activities and the places they’ve visited, assuming they had their phone with them. This can be handy if you need to retrace your steps, remember the name of a great restaurant you visited, and more.

New Features

More Customization
The iOS app includes new features for Your Timeline, such as allowing users to customize any part of their timeline if they detect inaccuracies. Additionally, dates, date ranges, or the entire timeline history can be deleted at any time.

Timeline Info on Place Cards
When you bring up a Place card on your device after visiting it, you will see information about your previous visits.

Monthly Recaps
At the end of each month, Google will send a summary of all the cities, states, and countries you’ve visited over the past 30 days.

To start using Your Timeline, simply upgrade your Google Maps app in the iOS App Store.
