Google Images Simplifies Finding GIFs

Google is enhancing its ability to find GIFs by acquiring the GIF platform Tenor.

Millions of GIF searches occur daily, prompting Google to improve image search to better cater to its users’ needs.

Google praises Tenor for its skill in locating the perfect GIFs:

“With their deep library of content, Tenor surfaces the right GIFs in the moment so you can find the one that matches your mood.”

Tenor will aid Google in displaying GIFs in image search results and will also be integrated into other Google products, such as Gboard.

Despite this acquisition, Tenor will continue to function under its brand, and Google expresses enthusiasm about investing in their technology and partnerships with content and API partners.

There will be no changes to Tenor’s platform or tools, including its current integrations with other services like WhatsApp. Products similar to the Tenor keyboard will remain available.
