Google Assistant on both iOS and Android has introduced a new feature allowing users to subscribe to daily reminders.
Using Google Assistant, you can set up subscriptions for daily weather updates or even a funny video to start your day.
Simply say a command like “send me weather every day,” and the Assistant will prompt you to select a preferred time for receiving the update.
Tap on your chosen time slot, and your subscription will be set. You can also subscribe to the same update multiple times a day.
You can ask the Assistant to set up various other subscriptions, such as:
– Send me a poem every day
– Send me a quote every day
– Send me a funny video every day
– Send me a fun fact every day
– Send me a mindfulness tip every day
If you wish to change your subscriptions at any time, just say “show active subscriptions,” and the Assistant will display your current subscriptions in a carousel.
Tap on the subscription you want to modify, and you’ll be able to adjust the time it’s sent or cancel it altogether.
These daily subscriptions are a feature originally borrowed from Google Allo. While somewhat limited at the moment, there is potential for Google to expand this feature in the future to increase its usefulness.
