Google has introduced a new mobile interface for recipe search results, identified today by Alex Chitu. After searching for a dish, a large list of tappable keywords now appears at the top of the search results.
The new keyword carousel helps users refine their search from something general like “french toast” to something more specific like “french toast casserole”. It also serves as a tool for discovering new variations on classic recipes.
Underneath the keywords, there is a carousel of newly designed recipe cards. Tapping on a recipe card will take you to the page where the recipe is published, while tapping on a keyword will lead to a new set of search results.
Selecting a recipe idea in the new keyword carousel helps you further refine the search. Google will take you to a new page filled with relevant recipe cards. As you continue to tap on keywords, Google dynamically updates its search results accordingly.
This update is currently available only for US mobile searches.
