Yext Starts Submitting Local Business Listings to Amazon Alexa

Yext has now integrated with Amazon’s digital assistant, Alexa, enhancing its ability to provide local business listings to users.

People who use Alexa for voice searches will receive the latest information about businesses.

Alexa can now provide details about business locations, contact information, hours of operation, and more.

With data from Yext being directly submitted by the businesses themselves, business owners can ensure that Alexa users receive accurate information.

A recent study indicates that Alexa lags behind competitors in retrieving local information. The integration with Yext is expected to improve Alexa’s capabilities in this area.

Marc Ferrentino, Chief Strategy Officer of Yext, stated in the company’s official announcement:

“Amazon’s innovations have exponentially increased consumer adoption of voice search. Consequently, businesses must align their brand content to answer specific questions posed by consumers using natural language. With Yext, they can do just that—so consumers who rely on Alexa can receive the most up-to-date knowledge about their business when and where it matters.”

Businesses that use Yext to manage their local listings will now see Alexa included in the Yext Knowledge Network. This integration will sync information automatically, making it seamless.

With this initial rollout, Amazon Alexa will use Yext-powered data to respond to queries about businesses in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Austria, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, and New Zealand. Expansion to other countries is in the company’s future plans.
