A new, unannounced feature has been identified in Google search results, highlighting popular videos from the web within an entity’s Knowledge Panel.
This feature was first noticed by Sergey Alakov and later acknowledged by local search expert Mike Blumenthal.

While initially noted in local search Knowledge Panels, further investigation reveals it extends to other entities. Here are examples of its appearance in various types of searches:
Movies
Video Games
TV Shows
This feature likely extends to other searches as well, but these are the instances found so far. Freshness appears to be a key ranking factor as all examples contain videos uploaded within the past few months.
It would be more accurate to name these ‘Videos from YouTube,’ since videos are not sourced from elsewhere. Given that Google owns YouTube, it’s understandable that the company would prefer highlighting its platform, though calling them ‘Videos from the web’ could be misleading.
This new feature presents businesses with a unique opportunity to leverage video marketing for better visibility in search results. If video marketing isn’t yet part of your SEO strategy, now there’s even more incentive to get your business on YouTube, already one of the world’s largest search engines.
