Bing has revamped the user interface of its hotel search results by introducing a new carousel at the top of the page. This carousel allows users to scroll through various options based on their query.
The information displayed in the carousel is sourced from TripAdvisor.
Interestingly, clicking on one of the results does not direct users to the TripAdvisor page for that hotel, nor does it take them to a booking page.
Instead, selecting a result in the carousel prompts Bing to perform a new search for the name of the hotel. This enables users to gather more information about the hotel from Bing’s search results.
At the top of the carousel, users will find several dropdown boxes. These can be used to narrow down the search even further — for instance, users might be looking for a 4-star pet-friendly hotel.
Currently, this new feature appears to be available only on desktop. This is intriguing, as the design seems particularly suited for mobile use. Perhaps the new interface will be extended to mobile devices in the future.
